The Spiral of Life is an innovative image that showcases the cutting edge of evolution science in an accessible and exciting way, while emphasizing the common origin and equality of all living things. The Spiral became a series of murals in several Pittsburgh cultural institutions, each piece focusing on a different aspect of the field.
The Spiral of Life project was part of the Darwin2009: a Pittsburgh Partnership initiative. This project was funded by a Science Education Partnership Award, granted by the National Center for Resource Research, a component of the National Institutes of Health.

A preview of our latest planetarium movie!
The Green-Eye “G” is the font Chalet London Nineteen Seventy. It was chosen to mimic a cardboard G with glitter on it that my neighbor and friend found outside a rave at the Capitol Hill Arts Center on his way home (from somewhere besides the rave) five years ago.
He mysteriously left two Gs on my driveway for me, and I tacked one to the door as my initial logo. Its lifespan is almost over as it is now growing mildew and is becoming increasingly warped and most of the glitter has fallen off, but for years it served its purpose.
If GEV ever makes any money, I’m planning on getting a nice metal G to replace it!
